Welcome

Stone Systems is a directory of UK stone industry professionals covering the supply, templating, installation and repairs of Granite, Quartz, Ceramic and other composite material work surfaces. Primarily used in the kitchen and bathroom industry Stone is the preferred choice of many developers and retail customers alike.

Here we provide a directory for consumers and developers to initially find all fabricators that cover their chosen postal area in one convenient place.

In addition we also provide third party details of worktop templaters, installers and cosmetic repair technicians from around the country to assist fabricators in delivering their finished projects regardless of their location.

Fabricating

The process of manufacturing your kitchen or bathroom worktops may come in various forms.

Some fabricators may prefer to do more of the finer details by hand than machine, others embrace the latest CNC technology and associated digital processes to complete their projects.

One method is not necessarily better than the other, you will no doubt choose the company that is right for you regardless of their manufacturing process.

Templating

As the name suggests it is the process of effectively 'copying' the shape of your kitchen or bathroom cabinetry onto a template. Dependent on the fabricator this can be achieved either by using physical templates made from plastic or wood, or using digital laser templates.

Many fabricators that have embraced the benefits of CNC technology to produce their finished products will generally work with laser templates. These can easily be transmitted from the field directly to the fabricator without the need to deliver templates manually as well as being very accurate.

Installing

Due to the nature of the various stones (predominantly the weight) most installation teams consist of 2-3 people to assist in moving, levelling and securing your worktops in place.

Your installers will complete any required worktop joints and may also be required to make any minor on site adjustments to ensure a good fit and finish is achieved.

Repairing

Accidents can and sometimes do happen to all of us. When accidents happen to solid surface worktops the thought of replacement fills many people with dread, and so it should.

It is not just the cost, but there is also no way a fabricator can 100% guarantee an exact match in pattern or shade of any material that is damaged after a certain period of time.

Luckily there are cosmetic repair companies and individuals across the UK that can assist in returning your work surface to its former glory.
